The 2010 Wheellie Mad Women Team

Sally Mlikota 2010 will be my 4th time as a wheelbarrow entrant and 2nd as a Wheellie Mad Woman!  After turning 40, I needed a fun goal each year to focus on fitness – this event is just perfect, I also love raising money for local kids who need a helping hand.

Kylie Barnes - This is me with Natalie and yes I will be back again to run again this year  crazy?  Yes!!! .  Natalie Barnes is my beautiful stepdaughter and all of your support is greatly appreciated.  Supporting Cerebral Palsy makes this run easy we are lucky that we have the ability to run.  It will be a little bit of pain but mostly fun! fun! fun! xx

Karen Doane  I am thrilled to be apart of the Wheelie Mad Women’s crew for my second Wheelbarrow Race!  This race is absolutely one of the best events I’ve ever participated in – the fun, the fitness, the fashion, the finishline – are all fantastic. Even better is the fact we are running to help raise funds for children with cerebral Palsy.  I was lucky enough to watch the father/son team of Dick and Ricky Hoyt in the 1999 Hawaiian Ironman, where Ricky (who has severe cerebral palsy) was pulled in a boat, pedalled on the front of the bike and then pushed through the marathon by his father Dick.  The empowerment, freedom and joy Ricky experienced is something I hope our fundraising efforts can assist in others in experiencing with the same affliction

Above our Sally with Olga and Ivo  - our Dimbulah/Almaden  supporter/organsiers.  We couldn't survive without their kindness.  Providing us with amazing food and accommodation the first night and setting up camp the second night they spoil us!!  Seeing their friendly faces each day makes the pain not so bad!!!

Tanya Papallo - I’m participating in this years race to be part of a great cause, to join in community spirit & as I’m turning 40 in a few months time this will be a stepping stone for me start participating in other community sporting activities, I plan to be fitter now than when I was in my 30s  J and there’s no better time for me to start now with this great cause

Julie LeComte -  The reason Im participating and is that there is no better feeling than doing something you enjoy and to raise funds for "Kids with Cerebral Palsy".

Louise Nicholson - My name is Louise and my son Alf Cunneen has cerebral palsy which is one of the reasons I really want to do this race. I use to play a lot of sport but the children have slowed me down a little. This race has made me determined again. I just hope I don’t collapse on some dusty road somewhere. Plenty of ladies to pick me up if I do, I hope

Judy Lui I enjoy keeping fit, the great outdoors, playing and watching sports
like women's rugby union, rugby league and women's afl.
I am also keen to contribute to worthy causes such as this one and other
community activities, though this will be my first ever wheelbarrow race
I am very excited to be a member of the Wheelie Mad Women's team. I
hope to go the distance and who knows might return in 2011.

OUR SUPPORT CREW

Zoe Strickland - (Wheellie Mad Masseuse) - 10 inspired ladies,  20 sweaty legs and 10 achy backs and opportunity to take part in a fabulous fun filled weekend  ……and all in a great cause.

Jennifer Wenzel -“I’m participating in the race because kids with cerebral palsy inspire me. My own son is affected by cerebral palsy and each day he reminds me that nothing is impossible if you try.  If he can get up each day and conquer his cerebral palsy, I think I can conquer this “wheelie mad” wheelbarrow race.”

Trudy McMurray - This is my 2nd year as a “Wheelie Mad Woman”. Since losing 23kgs two years ago my fitness has become a huge factor in my life. This race is a great annual test and the bonus: Raising money to help our local kids with Cerebral Palsy.

Maree Dinan-Thompson - I became a 'Wheely Mad Woman' in 2009. The event is a great way to contribute to charity - time for me to give something back as I've had a blessed life. Running for Cory in 2009 was special as he is the nephew of very close friends. His smile and enjoyment on Day 1 of the event was amazing and while we had sore muscles, focusing on raising money for Cory and Cerebal Palsy Association meant so much more.
